A fun and interesting project created by a woman named Asia. She has written letter after letter to people and mailed them to complete strangers. While I think this is completely and utterly weird and strange, I also really love it.
Chemo Angels and Senior Angels
If you’re in the mood to do a good deed, you MUST check out this site. These kind and caring folks arrange for chemo patients and seniors to have their own personal angel who sends them letters and tiny gifts weekly. Wonderful, wonderful program. If you can’t participate yourself, I hope you will pass the words to family and friends who might be able to participate.

The Epistolary (Letter) Project
Heather Piper obtains letters that are being sold on eBay, in antique shops and in other venues and attempts to reunite them with their previous owners. A fascinating and worthy cause!
The Legacy Project’s mission is to honor American military veterans and soldiers by preserving their wartime letters. Their web site includes information on how to preserve letters and has links to actual letters from wartime.
Wacky, scary, entertaining… there are so many words to describe this collection of letters from… well, I’m not sure who. Take a break, put your feet up, check it out.
Letters to Soldiers
Here is a list of web sites that support active duty soldiers who are either away or have returned home injured or ill. We cannot all go and fight, but we can certainly do our part. Take some time to write a few letters to those men and women who need your thoughts, your kind support and prayers. Your efforts will honor their sacrifices. Write a card today!
Have you ever felt like expressing yourself “out loud” in a letter but didn’t actually want to send it to the person it’s meant for? If so, you’re definitely not alone. Check out this site for people who want to go ahead and write that letter. If you feel the urge, go add to the collection or just browse and see the depths of emotions and what letters can bring out in us.
An ongoing collection of love letters. Add your own!
This is perfect if you don’t have a lot of time to get your voyeuristic letter-writing fix. (It’s actually perfect in a lot of other ways, but I’m trying to appeal to the hurry-up-I-want-it-now generation. My apologies to the rest of you.) They are open, they are honest, they are moving, they are funny, they are real. Go see, you must.
Post Letters is a UK-based letter writing campaign that seeks to inspire people to write more letters. Go there now and request to join and at some random time in the future you will get something cool in the mail. I hope you’ll devote some time to this web site and join the movement. They deserve your love and attention!
