Looking for a place to practice a different language? A great way to start is by getting a penpal. This site has a huge batch of links where you can find pen friends who speak the language of your choosing.
The Letter Exchange is a quarterly print publication that “supports and encourages the age-old art of letter-writing.” They have a wonderful history of connecting people with their anonymous mail forwarding system. Great way to develop a penpal relationships safely and with a group of people who area passionately devoted to letters. I subscribe to this magazine and highly recommend it!
This is a penpal community for people with depression or for people who want to write encouraging, uplifting letters to new friends.
A collection of people who are looking for penpals.
This is not really a pen pal web site but this seemed the best place for it until I come up with a new category. This is, basically, a postcard swapping web site with some randomness thrown in. It’s a great way to assure you get something back in the mail because you can’t receive a postcard until you’ve sent one and it’s been registered at the site. If you love to send and receive postcards, you must go check this out!
This site is similar to Postcrossing, conceptually, in that you can go get a random address and mail something to a stranger. However, that’s where the similarity ends. While Postcrossing is for postcards, Send Something can be for just about anything. Users fill out their profiles indicating their hobbies and other interesting things about themselves. What you send is completely up to you. Have fun!
