Love Letters from the Civil War
Virginia Tech has a collection of love letters from the Civil War in their holdings. I love Civil War letters. Everyone spoke “so prettily” back then!
This is my personal favorite of all the letters I’ve read from the Civil War. The writing is beautiful, poetic, fabulous. It was used with superb music in the Ken Burns documentary of the same topic. (And that documentary is a MUST SEE if you’re a fan of the Civil War.)
