Here’s a fun giveaway you can participate in:

Go over to Stepmom Extraordinaire’s blog to read the rules. The paper is worth entering for. Very cute! They also have some retro designs which I love. I look normal on the outside, but truthfully I’m 80% hippie on the inside. (The other 20% is techno-geek.)

It’s time for a new selection of stuff from Etsy! Today I’m showcasing cool and weird letter writing stuff. Go check out some of these shops and support artists who make unique letter writing products. Tell them to keep on keepin’ on!

I’m bitter and angry that I’m not living in Vancouver right now. Just for a week, maybe a month or so. Why oh why?

And you’re probably asking, “Why oh why does Wendy want to live in Vancouver all of a sudden?”

It’s because of Assembly of Text and their store. Not only do they have really great stationery and STUFF, but they also have a button-making station at their store and a monthly letter writing club.

I think it should be mandatory that all cities have a cool shop like this. If you’ve ever been to this store or one like it, leave us all a note and tell us about your grand adventures!

For my birthday I treated myself to a free download from 16 Sparrows. I am such a cheap date!

Kathy and Donovan are very clever and talented stationers who create high quality handmade goods that are great for letter writing and other forms of correspondence. Well worth the look while you’re there gobbling up the free goodies. Please look around a while.

Okay, now about this free stuff… there are printable downloads of notecards, mailing labels, and my personal favorite is the printable envelope template. (Cause you know I’m an envie junkie!) There are also a few other little tidbits there that are fun, but not necessarily related to letter writing.

Have fun!

I ran across the tasty morsel above (called Chocolate Covered Correspondence) which lead me to the awesome shop of Freshly Skweezed Stationery.

Over there you’ll find personalized stationery and some letterpress stuff. It looks like good prices for the quality of the goods you’ll get. Very classy and fun stuff. These would also make great unique gifts for a letter writing pal.

Go check out: Freshly Skweezed

I ran across this web site recently: Printable Paper

This is a great web site if you’re looking for something new and interesting to write on. It has 450 different types of lined papers that you can print for free. They have the traditional lined paper and graph paper. They have weird log paper that I have NO idea what it’s used for… maybe mathematics or geometry? Polar graph papers (write in circles)! Hexagons! Octagons! Isometric! Music papers, dot papers! Penmanship paper! (We use this for our son who is learning to write.)

One of my favorites is the “story paper” which is the penmanship paper with blank spots. Your kids can draw in the blank space and write on the lines at the bottom. My son has a journal like this and he draws and I write in his words for him at the bottom.

Another neat one is the Cornell Note Paper which has lines in one section and then a blank column and blank bar at the bottom which would be really fun for doodling.

So, go check it out and treat yourself to some fun and free printable papers!
